Jacob Flick, President (2027)
Jacob is an Arizona native and bought his home on Flower Street in 2021 to be closer to his family. He graduated from Arizona State University in 2017 and lives with his fiancé and 2 dogs. He joined the board during Spring 2024 in order to get involved in the community and deploy some of his skills from working in the financial services industry.
Bea Rea, Vice President (2028)
Bea supports our neighborhood events planning and helps make these events happen for our neighborhood. She and her husband Robert have lived in the neighborhood for 27 years. Bea has been engaged with the board and neighborhood in one manner or other throughout her time living here. Together they are a great resource for the learning the history of the Phoenix Hometeads Neighborhood.
Andy DeKorte, Secretary (2027)
Andy is a pastor at Phoenix Christian Reformed Church at 2438 Earll and lives next door with his family. He enjoys the neighborhood, serving on the Board, and the “Big 3” events which the Board organizes. He and his wife, Emily, have lived in the neighborhood since 2018 along with their six children.
Denny Esford, Treasurer (2028)
Denny is a former engineer, and currently an attorney and commercial arbitrator. He and his wife Penny moved here from Chicago in November 2021. They purchased their circa 1951 home on 27th Street in June 2020 and recently completed a major renovation of both the home and landscape. Denny is an avid golfer, always willing to join a foursome and make new friends.
Mark Shufeldt, Board Member (2027)
Mark is originally from Minnesota and went to school at ASU. He was a construction finance banker and spent most of his career as a commercial contractor. He used to work at the bank branch that has become our neighborhood dispensary. Mark and Faith became the second true owners of their 1948 red brick house near 25th place and Pinchot. They are very happy to become residents of Phoenix Homesteads. Mark is a member of the tree committee and the neighborhood board. He is looking forward to keeping the neighborhood a safe, happy place for everyone.
